Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This voluntary statement has been published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by the Health Tec Medical to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains.

This statement relates to the fiscal year ending 31 March 2025

About Health Tec Medical Limited

Health Tec Medical Limited is a family-owned UK-based international supplier of medical equipment, including medical seating and reclining chairs and disposables associated with the Renal Care industry. Health Tec Medical act as distributors for some UK suppliers but mainly EU suppliers in Hungary, Italy, Germany, and Sweden and two suppliers in America.

As our business has a turnover of less than £36 million, we do not have a legal obligation to produce a modern slavery statement. However:

  • We agree that exploitation within all supply chains ending in the UK is morally unacceptable and damaging to our society. We are therefore committed to playing our part in eliminating exploitation.
  • We understand that customers with obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 cannot comply with those duties without our cooperation.

Our commitment to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015

Health Tec Medical is committed to the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking. As an equal-opportunities employer, Health Tec Medical is committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for its staff.

Health Tec Medical’s recruitment and people management processes are created to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion once in our employment.

Our supply chain

Health Tec Medical’s supply chains include the sourcing of medical equipment, devices, and disposables from predominantly European based suppliers. (Hungary, Italy, Germany, and Sweden.)

Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we:

  • Build long-standing relationships with our suppliers and make clear our expectations of business behaviour.
  • Have a process of Supplier Approval to ensure that we are contracting with appropriate businesses.
  • With regards to our international supply chains, we expect these entities to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes. We expect each entity in the supply chain to, at least, adopt ‘one-up’ due diligence on the next link in the chain. It is not practical for us (and every other participant in the chain) to have a direct relationship with all links in the supply chain.

We encourage the reporting of concerns and the protection of whistle blowers.

Supplier Adherence to our Values and Ethics.

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. We expect all those in our supply chain and contractors to comply with our values.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business we provide briefings to our Directors and employees.

Actions

Health Tec Medical has undertaken the following actions:

  • Made all staff aware of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and informed them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking.

Key Performance Indicators

Health Tec Medical received zero reports from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified.

We can confirm that we have examined our own business and, to the extent that it is reasonably practicable, businesses within our supply chain and we confirm the following:

  • We confirm that within our own business, no relevant offence relating to slavery or human tracking has been committed.
  • We have made enquiries of businesses that supply directly to us, and we are confident that no relevant offence is committed in that business.
  • As far as it was reasonably practicable, we have examined our supply chains and confirm that we found no evidence of slavery or human trafficking.

Actions to be taken in 2024-25

During 2024-25, Health Tec Medical will undertake the following activities:

We will continue to work to raise awareness of modern slavery within Health Tec Medical by reviewing and evaluating the measures and processes that we have implemented so far to ensure their effectiveness.

We will work with our suppliers and review our processes with our delivery partners to identify any additional measures we can take as a business to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.

Continue to develop a staff awareness strategy for the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reporting mechanisms if a case of slavery or human trafficking is suspected.

Review

Following its initial adoption, this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking statement will be reviewed annually and maybe amended from time to time.
